Recognition Is Not Permission
To know a name, a wound, a promise, or a door is not to own what answers.
Magic in The Age of Names follows relations. Recognition can create access, but access is not consent. Protection can be real and still become possession; care can become custody; a ward can become a cage.
The question is not whether power means well. The question is whether another person remains able to answer, alter the terms, refuse, and stop what has begun. That answerability is not decoration around the magic. It is part of what makes the magic causal.
Recognition creates access, not permission.
